History is written by the victors and often re-written to push a narrative or propaganda towards a subject. With the technology today we have access to more resources to learn the truth of what really happened instead of what we were programmed to believe.
Understanding History is meant to be a platform where topics can be learned and discussed that are usually banned or hidden from most people. As you go thru the contents you will find reference links and archived links of censored information.
Our Story
Understanding History began by being banned on social media...
As events unfolded around the world, we would ask questions. Only to have posts removed or blocked online. The more we researched into a deep dive a history the more we found and when we discussed historical events documented on Wikipedia, banned!
No discussion. One group was completely unable to be discussed. Even the so called free speech platforms like X would ban you for discussing historical events of this group. Elon Musk seemingly to ignore any complaints about the actions and allow the group to break all the rules without consequence.
Realizing we grew up with government and media controlled propaganda that hid the events, the information was still out there to learn but hard to find. When we would try and discuss certain events the amount of data was so great it needs to be curated into organized Wikis and posts to preserve and share. Posting to social media can not be trusted as it can be deleted at any time for any reason by the social media companies.
Our Plan for the Future
The need for organization and education
Our future will rely on educating the public. In all available languages. We need native interpreters, researchers, volunteers, and writers to help curate content and develop an archive of data from the social media platforms, videos, events, etc. And organize the data into an easy to follow and find format for review.
One problem society will have is educating those off line or those who can not read English of what is really unfolding. To free them from the state owned propaganda and make them question and hold their governments accountable.
A system to organize local activists to print and share information where others can find it. Because of the nature of information we are ineligible for monetization online.
